The Furniture Industry Association of Bento Gonçalves and Fimma Brasil 2013 (International Fair of Machines, Raw Materials and Accessories for the Furniture Industry) formalized last Wednesday, July 4 , the donation of furniture and utensils for the new facilities of the city Fire Department. Donations included a set of sofas, bedding and household appliances in addition to furniture for a kitchen and cafeteria.
The facilities will be used by the firefighters and 30 students of the Military Firefighter Training course scheduled to begin later this year. The initiative is the recognition of the services provided by the fire department to the furniture trade shows held in Bento Gonçalves: Casa Brasil, Movelsul Brasil and Fimma Brasil. The director of infrastructure of Movelsul Brasil 2012, Marcos Pilotti, thanked the support of the fire brigade during the events that boots the local economy and highlighted the importance of an appropriate physical infrastructure to train new soldiers. "We hope that the 30 heroes trained here can leave their mark on the community, saving many lives," he said.
The officer in charge of the Fire Department in Bento Gonçalves, Captain Sandro Carlos Gonçalves da Silva, said that the corporation would not have been able to renew the structure without the financial assistance from organizations and local trade fairs. "With this, we can provide a better service, always attempting to achieve greater efficiency," he said.
