Booth shared by member companies had the Buyers Project and also the exhibition of products
The Orchestra Brasil business meetings held during the International Suppliers Fair for the Wood and Furniture Industry (ForMóbile) boosted new exports for the participating companies. Altogether, the ForMóbile Buyers Project, held last week, organized 150 meetings with 12 guest importers. Additionally, the 100-square-meter booth exhibited products manufactured by four member companies of the Orchestra Brasil Project: Franzoi, Kolafit, Pallet do Brasil and Torralba.
The guest importers came from nine countries with consumption potential for products supplied by the project: South Africa, Argentina, Canada, Colombia, Costa Rica, Mexico, Peru, Puerto Rico and Uruguay. During 20-minute meetings, they were able to get to know supplies, components, accessories and chemicals made by 23 Brazilian companies that participate in the Orchestra Brasil Project.
Most importers participated for the first time in a trade fair in Brazil, including Colombian Leonardo Salas - Espumas Santafé, from Bogota. His company manufactures and sells sofas, mattresses and foams in 17 stores located in the main Colombian cities. At ForMóbile, Salas was searching suppliers of adhesives, fabrics, furniture legs and machinery. According to him, what most attracts him to take advantage of the opportunity to negotiate with Brazilian companies is quality. "We intend to do some business based on these meetings because products have good quality at an affordable price. In addition, we were given the opportunity to distribute products of some companies in Colombia," he says.
For the member companies of the Orchestra Brasil Project, initiatives like business meetings and taking part in trade shows around the world help to provide access to new markets and consolidate those where they already have business. The export manager of Renner Sayerlack, Gustavo Lorencini also points out that the systematic participation in major events around the world enhances their brand image in the international market. "We liked the profile of the importers chosen for ForMóbile. The project succeeded in bringing representatives of diversified areas and our company got interested in many of them" he says.
About the Orchestra Brasil Project
The Orchestra Brasil Project dates back to 2006 and promotes the competitive inclusion of suppliers of the woodworking sector in the international market in a sustainable way. Currently it comprises 72 member companies and 38 design studios. The project has had good results in recent years. In 2013, the participating companies reported significant increase in exports. Compared to 2012, exports increased 14.6%, representing four consecutive years of growth. The priority markets were essential to this performance. The growth in these countries was 19.4% in 2013, higher than the overall growth, just like the other years.
This was the third consecutive year participating in the ForMóbile project and in the last edition, the Buyers Project forecasted a generation of US$ 2 million in exports by the participating companies. In 2014, the project will participate in other fairs including Tecnomueble (Guadalajara), FMC China (China), IWF (Atlanta), Expo Ferretera (Guadalajara), Intermob Istanbul (Turkey), Sicam Pordenone (Italy) and Fenafor Peru (Lima). The Orchestra Brasil will also promote a mission to prospect the South African market in August.
