From May 21 to 24, the Orchestra Brasil Project, an initiative to promote exports organized by Sindmóveis Bento Gonçalves in partnership with the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex-Brasil), will support the participation of four Brazilian companies in the Interzum Cologne fair. Four booths will bring together launches by the companies Alternativa, Brasmacol, CPI Tegus and Obispa - manufacturers of components, accessories and finishes for the furniture industry.

Interzum is today the most important worldwide fair for the supply chain of the furniture industry. Recognized worldwide as a benchmark for launches of products for the furniture industry, the show is expected to feature at least 1,700 exhibitors from 60 countries on 180,000 square meters of exhibition space. This great fair enables exhibiting companies to have contact not only with European exhibitors, but also with visitors from all continents and leading worldwide players. "It is a woodworking industry benchmark that provides contacts with several markets, since approximately 80% of the visitors and exhibitors are from outside Germany", says the president of Sindmóveis, Vinicius Benini.

Experienced suppliers represent the Brazilian furniture industry

The furniture industry suppliers are the great motivators for innovation in the sector - including manufacturers of technologies, supplies, accessories and design studios from the services segment. This link is fundamental to increase the competitiveness of the industry as a whole: it is estimated that 70% of the furniture production value includes inputs and intermediate consumption of the sector. Components account for 46.7% of the total furniture production.

For Sindmóveis, qualifying the woodworking industry as a whole to operate in the foreign market also results in innovation and competitive edges that will be used by the furniture industry. In this regard, the Orchestra Brasil Project enhances and promotes the competitive inclusion of Brazilian companies that supply the furniture industry in the international market. The initiatives carried out by the project range from participation in international fairs to buyer’s and seller’s projects, and commercial and technical missions. Some 50 Brazilian companies that manufacture accessories, components, tools, machines, layout software and raw materials take part in the project.
