Exports in June grew by 28.2% over the same period last year
The furniture center in Bento Gonçalves saw in June a growth of 28.2% in exports over the same period in 2011, totaling US$ 6.7 million, the best result since October 2008, during the onset of the global economic crises. Growing by 6.6% in the first half over the same period last year, exports totaled US$ 28.8 million. The main destinations were countries in Latin America and Africa. The positive figures achieved in Bento Gonçalves contrast with the results showed by furniture manufacturing companies in Rio Grande do Sul and Brazil, whose exports fell by 0.6% and 7.9% respectively over the first half in 2011.
