Orchestra Brasil is increasingly consolidating its relevance for suppliers in the Brazilian furniture supply chain who are looking to start or strengthen their internationalization efforts. Conducted by the Furniture Industry Association of Bento Gonçalves (Sindmóveis) in partnership with the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (ApexBrasil), the project strategically works to make companies from various segments more competitive in the foreign market. With participation in trade fairs, trade missions, and buyer projects, Orchestra Brasil ends 2023 with a projection of reaching US$ 20.9 million in business deals. This estimate considers the more than US$ 4.1 million already achieved during these actions and the transactions expected to materialize over the coming months.
Currently, the project includes 75 participating companies (almost 20% more than the previous year) located in six Brazilian states (ES, GO, PR, RS, SC, and SP). These companies are suppliers from various segments that make up the furniture supply chain, such as machines, adhesives, paints, software, packaging, accessories, industrial exhaust systems, tools, plywood, among others.
Ana Cristina Schneider, manager of Orchestra Brasil, highlights that the global scenario has impacted the entire furniture sector, making the international performance of the companies in the project challenging. “Mexico and Peru stood out among the target countries for exports because, compared to 2022, our product and service suppliers showed growth in these two markets. In others, we observed stability or a slight decrease, but still above the overall average of the furniture sector,” she explains.
In her assessment, Ana considers that the project had a very successful trajectory in 2023. “In addition to new companies joining Orchestra Brasil, we participated with a booth at two major German fairs, Interzum and Ligna, and the Mexican Tecno Mueble. We conducted a trade mission to Peru, where we visited industries and the Fenafor fair. We also held international business roundtables at Fimma Brasil, which featured 51 companies and 19 importers, and was considered extremely satisfactory by the participants,” she states. “We end the year motivated to continue the internationalization process of suppliers in the furniture sector, as we see exports as a competitive advantage for companies. We will start 2024 with a buyer project on the agenda and are already focused on planning for the coming years,” adds Ana Cristina Schneider, manager of Orchestra Brasil.
