Five families living in social vulnerability conditions in Bento Gonçalves have had a new reality since last Wednesday, March 21. They could benefit from the Happy Home housing program, run by the city government of Bento Gonçalves, which includes houses built in Vila Nova 3. One of these families also received the furniture for the house, donated by Movelsul Brasil. The furniture was part of the project called the Consumer in the New Brazil - a life-size house built to represent the lifestyle of a middle-class family.
Nagelita Wiebbelling was chosen by the Housing Department of Bento Gonçalves to receive the furniture as she is part of the program that deals with situations of great social vulnerability. The donation included furniture for two bedrooms, a living room, a kitchen and a bathroom - totaling R$ 6,000 in addition to a refrigerator, a stove and a sink. The furniture was given by Carraro, complements and decoration items by, Tok&Stok; and the home appliances, by Lave Mia and Venax.
Representing Movelsul, the labor law director at Sindmóveis, Gilberto Bertarelli, handed in the keys pointing out the engagement of the association in the city social issues. "The mission of Sindmóveis is to generate development and income, helping furniture companies in Bento Gonçalves become increasingly competitive. But it also should fulfill its social role, because that is where the work force lies," he says.
Consumer of the New Brazil
The second edition of the project held at Movelsul Brasil 2012 features a 60 square meter apartment, built in Pavilion C and furnished by companies exhibiting at the fair. The idea is to show how a fictional new Brazilian middle class family lives, consisting of a couple, two daughters and a paternal grandfather. Movelsul Brazil will be held from March 26-30 at Parque de Eventos in Gonçalves. For more information, visit: www.movelsul.com.br.
